NEW MASS SCHEDULE FOR THE COLLABORATIVE OF SACRED HEART AND ST. THOMAS MORE PARISHES . . . Pope Saint John Paul II, in his Apostolic Letter, Dies Domini (The Lord’s Day) reminds us that Sunday “has always been accorded special attention in the history of the Church because of its close connection with the very core of the Christian Mystery.”  We are invited to discover with new intensity each week the meaning of Sunday: “it’s mystery, its celebration, its significance for Christian and human life.”   From the Mass all things flow and are nourished. We want and need our Eucharistic celebrations at each Parish of the Collaborative to be spiritually uplifting; we will continue to invest in and focus on the Sacred Liturgy. When developing our new schedule, we took into account that the Mass schedule needs to be based upon these pastoral needs as well as the practical needs of our community and the theological principles of the celebration of the Mass. As we have been discussing, and as expressed in the survey, it is time to adjust the Mass schedule.  We hope that you can see that with this new schedule we have tried to make sure that the Mass is available early and later during the weekend, and is accommodating to the whole collaborative community.   We know that these changes are hard.  We ask that you prayerfully enter into the new schedule and as we move forward may our celebration of the Eucharist always be a joyful expression of our life in Christ.
